Reading an Access Control List

When you first invoke the ACL editor, you do not see an access control list (ACL) until you open the ACL for a particular object. (See Opening an ACL for information on opening ACLs.)

After you specify the object whose ACL you want to view, that ACL is displayed. See What Is an Access Control List Entry? for information about the ACL display.

The Access Control List display helps you determine who has what types of access to a given object. See Checking Sequence for ACL Entries for more information about interpreting ACL entries.
